We all struggle at times in our lives, and when we find ourselves in a difficult place, it can feel lonely. My approach to therapy is relational and I will engage your process with a curious and reflective approach to better understand your particular needs. Within a therapeutic relationship, we will explore how your past experiences may relate to your present distress and work to identify and make meaning of thought and behavior patterns in your life. I draw from psychodynamic and attachment theories while considering the impact of culture in your life and relationships, which means that we may also talk about your family background and the larger context in which you live your life. You are encouraged to express your thoughts and feelings about your struggles, desires, and our work together. Together we will work on goals that you have for change and some ways to work on achieving those goals. Additionally, I practice from a trauma-informed lens and will support you in working through the effects of past trauma. Whether it’s a relationship issue, a career issue or challenges with depression or anxiety, we can find ourselves feeling stuck. A strong relationship with a supportive therapist can help you experience movement, a deeper sense of connectedness, purpose and hope. I look forward to meeting you and starting this journey of discovery together.
