Sometimes the difficulty is clear – you’re struggling with a big life transition, work is stressful, a relationship isn’t working, frustrating personal patterns are repeating. Sometimes it’s less clear – a vague sense of dissatisfaction, chronic worries, unhappiness. As a therapist, my intention is to listen closely and compassionately to help you find relief and a path forward. More than relief, even – I have faith that this careful and open attention, which listens for what has been pushed out of awareness or is not immediately obvious, can make room for new growth. I rely on psychodynamic theory, with the understanding that our experience of ourselves and others carries echoes of our earliest relationships. What happens between us in therapy can be an excellent way to learn about and transform these old patterns. I’ve found that this work can free you up to find emotional growth, creative engagement in life and work, and strong relationships.
